Maria Emilia (Emy) is completing a double-major in French and Communication Studies with a minor in Ethnic Studies. She has an excellent command of French, Spanish and English. She is a student/ peer instructor for a first-year forum this semester and will be the student/peer Spanish instructor for a Human Issues trip to Guatemala next semester. In partnership with College Ministries, Emy planned a student Alternative Break trip to Guatemala. 
Emy has volunteered on campus as an Orientation Guide and serves as an Edgewood Ambassador. She also assists with the Campus Activity Board and has worked in the Center for Global Education and the Admissions Office. She is currently a commuter assistant as well as a peer mentor for first-year students. Emy is involved with Rotaract, Luke House and A.L.A.S. (Association for Latino students).
