At this year's Honors Convocation, Pearl Leonard-Rock, Assistant Dean of Students for Diversity & Inclusion, had this to say: "Mr. Fonfana has a gracious team spirit and is deliberate in his actions to embrace differences and celebrate diverse perspectives. His follow-through is commendable. I have watched him move ideas to strong sustainable realities over and over again, particularly in his work with the Black Student Union. He doesn't just suggest or host superficial programming, he is steadfast in 'keeping it real' and digging deeper with his initiatives. Amadou is regarded as very professional, organized and flexible in his approach to partnership."
